A “Broadcast” is a standard marketing text message created within the broadcast section of the Muster application. Broadcasts are great for quick updates on issues and other initiatives. If you have created an “Action Center” in Muster and are looking to message your contacts to encourage them to take action and message their officials, then sending out an “Action Alert” would be the better option.

Step One

Navigate to the “Broadcast” section of your Muster account.

Step Two

In the top right corner of your window, click the green “New Broadcast” button and select “Create New Text Broadcast.”

Step Three

Next, name your broadcast, select the contacts you’d like to send the message to, and finally, write the message. Please note the character count while composing your message. Anything over 160 characters will be broken into separate messages and impact billing. Once you’re happy with your message, click “Save and Continue” to move on to the last step.

Step Four

In the final step, you can preview your message by entering a single phone number to send a test. When you are satisfied with how everything looks and are ready to send, you can send your message right away or schedule it on a specific day and time.

Step Five

From there, click "Send right away" to start sending to your recipients immediately, or choose a time up to seven (7) days in advance to schedule sending your Text Broadcast.

Once you send your Text Broadcast, you can go back and view the broadcast content and recipients.
