Step One

An “Action Alert” in Muster is either an email or text message broadcast that is sent out to your supporters driving them to take action and advocate their officials on a specific issue. To create an “Action Alert” in Muster you must first create an “Action Center.” For instructions on how to do so, please visit the tutorial here.

Step Two

Once you have a published action center that you’d like to send out an action alert for, the first step is to navigate to the respective action center in your Muster account. From there, click “Create Email Action Alert.”

Step Three

Once in the “Action Alert” creation wizard, the first steps are to give it a name, enter the “sender” information, decide which list(s) in your account that you want to send the alert to, and to give your email a subject line.

Step Four

The next step is to design the look/feel of your email. There are a couple of pre-formatted templates you can choose from at the top of the page. Once you have one that you like, you can begin filling out the associated content blocks. Please note that if you do not want to include certain blocks, you can delete everything except for the “contact details”, the footer and the “Take Action” button.

Step Five

On the final step you’ll have the ability to send a preview to yourself or colleagues. If you are unhappy with how something looks after sending the test, you have the option to navigate back to the previous step to fix whatever you like before publishing. Once you are satisfied with how everything looks you will be able to either publish right away or schedule to publish at a future date.

Step Six

From there, all you have to do is press send! Once your alert is live you’ll be able to track it’s progress.
