Occasionally you might end up with one or more duplicate contacts. You can use the contact merge feature to combine their data into one contact.
Select the contacts
The contact action menu is enabled after you select at least one contact. Once you have selected two or more contacts, the "Merge contacts" action is enabled.
You should select all of the contacts you want to merge together into one contact.
Select the "winner"
Clicking the "Merge contacts" button will open a modal menu allowing you to select the "winner" contact. This is the one that will remain and into which all other contacts will be merged.
Merge results
After the contacts are merged, the various attributes of the duplicate contacts will be matched or added to the winner contact. Emails, phone numbers, addresses, and custom fields will be appended to the new contact unless they already exist on the winner contact.
Advocacy actions from the duplicate contacts as well as messaging data (broadcasts and action alerts) are re-associated with the "winner" contact.
