Action message mapping

Tie different messages, like "thank" and "act", to different officials

For many campaigns it doesn't make sense to prompt the same message or messages to your advocates for every official. In these cases, you can use message mapping to create a dual message track in which different messages are prompted for different officials.

Switching from message rotation

Action centers can employ either message rotation or message mapping but not both. To switch to message mapping when creating your action center, click the "Switch to Message Mapping" link in the messaging panel of the action center wizard.

Writing mapped messages

The only material difference between writing your message prompts for a mapped message action center versus a message rotation action center is that with message mapping you will always have two messages (and they are visually displayed side by side using a tab-style interface).

Choosing targets for each message

All of your action center's targets will be assigned to your first message by default. You can uncheck targets on a given message to remove them to the other message, or check yet unchecked targets to move them to a given message.

Taking action with message mapping

When message mapping is enabled on an action center, an advocate may be matched to multiple targets who do not all share the same message prompt. In this case your advocates will be presented with two message forms, each addressed to the respective targeted officials.

If they are matched with one targeted official or multiple targeted officials who share the same message prompt then they will see the same single-message form as an advocate using a "regular" message rotation-based action center.

Overview and enabling the feature

Our screencast (below!) provides a walk through of how to use the feature.

This feature is not enabled on your account by default. You will need to request it by contacting customer support through Intercom or email. There is no fee to use it, however once enabled it will prevent making use of older embedded widgets which do not support this feature.
