Saving a target group in your Muster account is a great option that will allow you to quickly add a group of officials to a campaign if you think you'll have to target that same group across multiple action centers. It is particularly useful for state-level committees!

Target groups represent a static snapshot in time

Accessing target groups

Navigate to the “Advocacy” portion of the application and click the “Target Groups” button in the top right.

On your target groups page you'll see a list of any target groups you've already created.

Adding a new group

Click “New Target Group” in the top right corner to add a new one.

Give the target group a name that you can easily reference when you want to add them to an action center.

Select your targets

From here, you can begin adding individuals to the target group by clicking on the “Individual” tab in the “Targets” section and searching for your elected officials by name or the office they represent (Virginia State Senate, 5th District, e.g.).

Once you’ve found your desired official, select them from the drop-down and click on the “Add” button.

Repeat until you’ve added all your desired targets. When you’ve got everybody in place, click on the “Save Target Group” at the bottom of the page to finish.

Start advocating

Congratulations! You’ve created your target group. You now have the ability to easily add them to any campaign you want moving forward. All you’ll have to do is click on the “Target Groups” tab when adding your targets to a campaign and select the one you’d like.
