Step One

In order to create a “Filtered” list in Muster please first make sure you have contacts imported into your account. For instructions on how to do that, please see the tutorial here.

Step Two

Once you have contacts in your account, navigate to the “Lists” section in your muster account and click the green “Add List” button. From there, select “Filtered List.”

Step Three

From here, the first step will be to give the list a name. Once that’s done, you’ll have to choose the list(s) in your account that you want to filter down from. If you want to filter from your entire account, select “All Contacts.”

Step Four

The next step is to choose the type of filter you’d like to apply. With Muster you have the ability to choose from a location, custom field, or both. NOTE: If you apply multiple filters on this step, you will be given an option to choose to include contacts that have “At Least One Filter” or “All Filters.” If you choose “At least one filter” it means that the list will populate anybody that fits within either filter. For example, “lives in Virginia’s 3rd Congressional District” OR is a “Super Advocate.” If you choose “All Filters” it means that contacts must meet both criteria to be included in the filtered list. For example, “Lives in Virginia’s 3rd Congressional District” AND is a “Super Advocate.”

Step Five

The final step is to review everything and make sure it looks good before clicking “Create.”

Step Six

Once you click create, your filtered list is created! Please note that it may take some time to fully populate your list if you’re filtering through a lot of data.
